I attended a presentation about tutorials in Plants Vs. Zombies given by one of the designers and got some great tips.

Then I headed to the IGF Pavilion and met Derek Yu (creator of Spelunky). I asked him about GameMaker and how he got his start in the industry. He mentioned he collaborated on a project with some other developers which eventually led him to work on the hit game - Aquaria.

The last talk I attended was part of the Game Career Seminar. It included Andy Schatz (Monaco), Brenda Garno Brathwaite (Loot Drop), Kim Swift (Portal), and 3 other developers. The crowd was allowed to ask questions to the panel about breaking into the industry/anything industry related.

I apologize for the terrible photos.... :(
I got a chance to talk to Brenda Brathwaite after the Q&A and she actually remembered me which was one of the highlights of the whole trip. Then I talked to Andy Schatz again and met up with some SCAD Alumni. That's all I'm posting about GDC for now. I'll post a little post mortem about the whole trip once the quarter is over.
